First presented during Burger Week last month, the Eater Maine Burger Heatmap is your guide to the best new burgers in the state. Some are from new restaurants, some are from older establishments that have added new burgers to their menus. Since its debut, more buzzed-about burgers have come on the scene, so it's time for an update. New to the Heatmap: the Fiery Calamari Burger from DiMillo's and the Patty Melt from The Porthole in Portland; the Fog House Burger from Fog Bar & Grill in Rockland. Here are ten smoking-hot burgers that are worth seeking out right now:

Like everything else on the menu at the revamped waterfront icon, chef Jesse Poirier's burger is a twist on a classic. Budget-priced, it ($7) starts with a locally raised beef patty and choice of cheese on a homemade bun. Add avocado, bacon or fried egg to jazz it up for just $1 more. Photo: Facebook
