With its pretty, sailboat-studded harbors and innumerable things to see and do, the Boothbay region is easily the most popular summer destination on the Midcoast. Seafood restaurants with similar menus abound, drawing tourists in with twin lobster specials and Maine beers on tap. Not that there’s anything wrong with those places, but we’ve got other ideas, having combed the Boothbay area in search of good food minus the tourist crowd. These nine eateries, ranging from super casual to fine dining, may be off the well-traveled path - or in the center of things but lesser-known.
