Food cart Little Jamaica, "Portland's Island Flava," announced it has a new food truck on the way. Last week the company shared a picture on Facebook of the new vehicle with the brief caption, "Soon come !!!"
The cart, owned by Derrick Anderson, appeared on the scene in 2013 and can usually be found in Tommy's Park in the Old Port, serving items like jerk chicken, ox tail, curried goat, and plantain chips. No word yet on an exact launch date, but the new vehicle would be a tight fit in the company's normal spot.
Update, 9/8/15: Little Jamaica clarified via Facebook comment that the Portland food cart will remain, and will in fact be joined soon by another cart in Old Orchard Beach. The truck is the "mother ship on the move" supplying the carts.
