It appears the Cooking Channel got a lot of mileage out of a recent trip to southern Maine. The Press Herald reports that the station filmed at spots like The Well and Portland Lobster Company for an episode of "Extra Virgin" said to be airing in January. Holy Donut and Scratch Baking Co. were the subjects of another unnamed show.

And it seems chef Aarón Sánchez brought his series "Taco Trip" to Portland specifically for "the legendary Sonoran hot dog" at El Corazon, at least according to inside sources. Taco Escobarr and a handful of Greater Portland's other taco proprietors will also be featured in episode eight of season two, scheduled to air in October.

We want to give a big shout out to chef Aarón Sanchez, so fun and such an awesome guest! Watch us on the show Taco Trip on the cooking channel, we are episode 8 and the show will air in October!

As a bonus, Sánchez posted on Facebook that he was "blown away by Eventide Oyster Co." Lookin' good, Maine.

Update 8/4/15: A reliable tipster has it that the Cooking Channel was at Catbird Creamery, too.
