Today's the day anticipated takeout restaurant OCHO Burrito opens its doors, little more than a week after posting a help wanted ad on Craigslist. (Don't let that stop you from applying, though, as the company was still looking as of yesterday.) The new spinoff from OTTO Pizza owners Mike Keon and Anthony Allen occupies a small space next door to Blue, and will serve burritos to go from lunch to dinner, 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. for now with late night hours added eventually:
Crafted flavors. Tightly wrapped.

The Press Herald and Urban Eye posted recent updates on OCHO, with the company's communications chief Eric Shepherd telling the latter, "We're interested in expanding the idea of what a burrito can be, and what can be in a burrito."
Portland Food Map shared an inside photo on Instagram yesterday, noting, "The chalkboard menu currently displays 4 options: Braised Beef, Moroccan Chicken, Curried Cauliflower and the Classic." The line-up (plus others previewed on the website) certainly sounds inspired by the variety of popular slices available at OTTO, including one intriguing vegetarian option right off the bat. Get in there and report back, readers.
