BIDDEFORD — Beer, pizza, now gin: the revitalized Pepperell Mill seems to have it all. Round Turn Distilling, run by Kennebunk native Darren Case and with design work by Might and Main, opened recently in the space directly adjacent to Banded Horn Brewing Company and across the hall from Portland Pie Company. Case buys in neutral grain spirits to redistill into Bimini Gin, which guests can sample neat or in two mixed drinks at the tasting room Fridays from 4 to 9 p.m. Status: Certified open. 32 Main Street, Building 13W, Suite 103, Biddeford, (207) 370-9446, website.

BIDDEFORD — Not far away, Tom Bull, former co-owner and head brewer of Portland's defunct all-lager producer Bull Jagger Brewing Company, is returning to the brewhouse. The Beer Babe has more on Bull and partner Mark Paulin's Dirigo Brewing Company, which will "reside in the Riverdam Millyard." The company hopes to release lagers (which are still a minority but increasingly common in craft beer) and ales by the end of 2015. Status: Give it time. Pearl Street, Biddeford, Facebook.

BRIDGTON — There's a new coffee shop in town: drip bar is serving Tandem Coffee Roasters, according to an Instagram post from last week. The cafe opened July 4 and so far a single Facebook reviewer calls it a "terrific addition to Bridgton!" Status: Certified open. 260 Main Street, Bridgton, Facebook.

PORTLAND — Per Portland Food Map, Soakology opens the doors to its new space at 11 a.m. today. The new location, next to Golden Lotus, is much larger than the original at Monument Square; both the tea bar and spa have expanded. Status: Certified open. 511 Congress Street, Suite 105, Portland, (207) 879-7625, website.

PORTLAND/POWNALPortland Food Map also reports that Portersfield Cider, heirloom orchardist and author David Buchanan's Pownal-based hard cider company announced last fall, began selling bottles at the Portland Farmers' Market at Deering Oaks Park on Saturday. The two initial offerings are Original Dry and Aronia, a beautiful blend involving elderberries and aronia berries, also known as chokeberries. Status: Certified open. 255 Elmwood Road, Pownal, (207) 233-5534, Facebook.
