Starting tomorrow, the sort-of-new Rosen's Deli in Westbrook will be open Monday to Friday 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Knish-crazed fans breathed a sigh of relief when owner David Rosen revealed plans to reopen Full Belly Deli, once Portland's only Jewish delicatessen. After flirting with an Old Port locale, forces behind the venture settled on a more sensible (read: more affordable) site in neighboring Westbrook. The new Main Street location even has a deck — but no alcohol, according to the Press Herald, despite Rosen's former hope that an infusion of beer would save Full Belly before it closed.
See below for a page from the new menu, which was posted to Facebook — it's slightly hard to read but it hits all the right notes, from reuben to chopped liver.
