Sugarloaf is getting a solid addition to its regional dining options: despite an unsuccessful Kickstarter campaign, food truck Rolling Fatties opens a permanent shop for its enormous burritos at 268 Main St. in Kingfield on Saturday. Owners Polly and Rob MacMichael won a Micro-Enterprise Assistance Grant for the project, designed to help them beat the winter blues. Their new home will be known simply as Fatties, interrupting the double (triple?) entendre of the mobile version, which will also remain on the road this summer.
Polly told Eater the brick-and-mortar menu will be familiar to fans of the truck's locally-sourced goods, with few changes planned at the start. For now, Fatties only has a takeout window, with plans for a seating area and a bar by next winter. Roll up and grab a fatty from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. tomorrow, bub.
Fatties, 268 Main Street, Kingfield, (207) 399-9246, website. Open Thursday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
