Bite Into Maine Doubles its Food Truck Fleet

Looks like lobster rolls are "in" right now.

Expect to see more of Bite Into Maine's well-loved lobster rolls around the Greater Portland area now that the company has purchased El Rayo Taqueria's old airstream. Owners Sarah and Karl Sutton made the announcement via Facebook last weekend, noting that they'd be "expanding our catering and events this summer!"

The airstream is too large to meet the restrictive zoning regulations of Fort Williams Park in Cape Elizabeth, so Bite Into Maine's original truck will remain at that prime location while the airstream travels for events like Allagash's 20th Anniversary Party June 27. Sutton told Eater they have another vehicle they're outfitting for service, but it's nowhere near as ready to roll as the airstream.

Sutton also let slip in a comment that although they're hoping to reopen at Fort Williams the first weekend of May, "lobster prices are incredibly high right now" and there's uncertainty as to the official opening date.
