Any Baby Boomers yearning for a stiff drink and a swingin' song should keep an eye on the progress of Crooners and Cocktails. One of the primary players in the venture, Chris Harris, said the new place will be a "modern retro throwback to the supper clubs of the 50's and 60's" with "high end classic American cuisine, fine dining, and classic cocktails."

The restaurant is under development at 90 Exchange Street in Portland, former home of Thai 9 and once meant to be occupied by defunct Shangri-La. Harris expects to open in mid-May; the Facebook page is peppered with photos of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, and the info section suggests the restaurant will serve dinner five nights a week and stay open until 1 a.m.
Does "fine dining" preclude the possibility of a cocktail featuring 60s darling and astronaut-approved Tang?
