One of Portland's only dedicated French bistros is coming to a crossroads. Petite Jacqueline is on the hunt for a new space for the new year, and co-owner Michelle Corry told Eater recently that she and husband/co-owner Steve Corry are "in the middle of some negotiations but nothing firm."
The restaurant has been searching for a new home since at least July, when Portland Food Map noticed its address, 190 State Street, listed in the commercial real estate section of Craigslist. The owners, who also run Five Fifty-Five and Portland Patisserie and Grand Café, explained at the time that "a rise in rent and interest in expanding the restaurant" were behind the news.
Even if an alternate location is found in the next few weeks, the restaurant expects to bid "a (temporary) farewell" at its New Year's Eve celebration. You may want to consider booking seats for that three-course meal in case you don't get a taste of chef Fred Eliot's French comfort food again for a while.
Thursday Dec 31st we say "au revoir" to 2015 as well as our beloved spot at 190 State Street. $75 three-course tasting...
