Dreaming of a White Christmas at The Armory Lounge, Saturday at 6 P.M.

Welcome to the photo series Eater Scenes, where Eater photographers visit some of the state's notable spots to capture them at a certain point in the day.

Portland won't be having a white Christmas this year, but the trade-off is that the unseasonably balmy weather makes a stroll through town positively pleasant. The halls are decked and the Old Port is looking as festive as ever this holiday season. If you're checking out the lights and decor, be sure to stop by the Regency Hotel for its shockingly successful lobster trap Christmas tree.

Then pop into The Armory Lounge, located in the hotel's cozy lower lobby, which regularly hosts a full house in the winter months when business slows at many other establishments. Ben Bragdon, who has been bartending at The Armory Lounge since 1998, showed Eater the off-menu holiday cocktail, the White Christmas. This decadent drink is made with Stoli Vanilla, Godiva White Chocolate Liqueur, a splash of peppermint schnapps, and trimmed with a candy cane. Check out the warm scene and festive atmosphere from Saturday evening in the photos above.
