On Monday, November 16, Eater will present the 2015 Eater Awards, our sixth annual celebration of all that's made the restaurant world run — and run wild — in the past 12 months. Winners will be selected on both the local and national levels in five major categories, and the voting begins right now. The polls are now closed for Restaurant of the Year, Chef of the Year, Bartender of the Year, and Hottest Restaurant of the Year. Today we focus on design. Which restaurant is this year's Stone Cold Stunner?
Here's are some details on each nominee. Eating at The Treehouse really does feel like dining inside a giant, magical tree, complete with one area referred to fondly as the hobbit room. Taking over the former Arrows farmhouse and grounds, The Velveteen Habit revamp allowed for equal parts elegance and rusticity. Isa made good use of its building's charms inside and out, with the brick exterior giving way to original wainscoting and tin ceiling inside, plus mosaic tile floors to evoke New York City. Evo's bold, angular architecture challenged Portland's staid sensibilities, and the large windows allow guests to see and be seen in the chic space. And hidden away in its cozy nook, The Wallingford's understated interior design showcases beautiful glassware and ingredients. Behold a gallery of images, then cast your vote below.
Here's how the voting works: Eater editors have named nominees for each of five major categories. Eater readers will vote, narrowing the nominees to three finalists. From those three finalists, the Eater editorial team will select a winner. Ready to play your part? This poll will be open for 24 hours; voting irregularities will be strictly policed.
