Popular Sanford bakery Dirty Dozen Donuts opened a satellite location at 137 Main Street in Biddeford last week. The Journal-Tribune has more on the expansion from owner Kelsey Quint, who got her start in the doughnut biz in high school at Congdon's Doughnuts in her hometown of Wells. The publication noted that Quint "will continue to make the doughnuts in Sanford, delivering fresh ones to the Biddeford shop each morning."
Dirty Dozen replaces Dahlia's Delights, a vegetarian cafe that closed in April after around two years in business. Doughnut selection includes plain cake and chocolate cake with a variety of toppings like butter crunch or chocolate; filled varieties like lemon or maple creme; and raised dough covered with such treats as chocolate, maple frosting, or strawberry. Get your fill Wednesday to Friday 6:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.
