A restaurant called Terlingua is moving into 52 Washington Avenue, according to Portland Food Map. Owner Pliny Reynolds told a commenter on the company's Facebook page that he "is just digging into the space now" and looks to open "this spring."
The eponymous Terlingua, a tiny former mining settlement, appears to be in Texas, just outside of Big Bend National Park. Reynolds' restaurant will be "A casual boutique BBQ restaurant and bar combining Latin American fare with house smoked meats," as described by the Facebook info section. A few tantalizing shots of slow smoked beef and pork ribs have already been shared.
52 Washington is the former home of Chez Biso na Biso, an African restaurant that had a sign in the window for months explaining,
We are temporarily closed until we finish setting up our new location. We are sorry for the inconvenience and hope to serve you better at our new location. Once done we will provide you with the address via our Facebook page. We value your Business [sic] and thank you. -Management.
The sole activity on the Facebook page in question was a series of eight photos posted on March 24, 2014. Needless to say, there's no word yet on when or if Chez Biso na Biso may be reopening.
