Congresswoman Chellie Pingree is one of the 25 Most Innovative Women in Food and Drink, according to Fortune (in collaboration with Food & Wine). Cited are her roles as farmer, innkeeper, and restaurateur on North Haven island, along with the fact that she "has made food policy reform one of her big issues in Congress, pushing for legislation that supports local, sustainable agriculture." This comes less than a year after sister publication Time released a male-dominated list of the Gods of Food.
