Chef Ricky Penatzer is leaving The Portland Hunt and Alpine Club for Daniel Boulud's DB Bistro in New York City. Penatzer has been hired as "a.m. saucier," handling all stocks, broths, and more, and says he's both excited about the huge learning opportunity and nervous about living in the big city. Owner Andrew Volk said he cannot yet announce the new chef. The Brunswick Hotel and Tavern, though, welcomed new executive chef David Pendexter, a native Mainer who "will continue to serve the classic Maine offerings...but with some additional dishes influenced by his own experiences."
