Best Part of Waking up: Tandem Coffee + Bakery Now Open

It's official: Tandem Coffee + Bakery opens its doors in the West End today. The neighborhood is so eager for its arrival, there was a false alarm on Tuesday as locals were drawn to the smell of a training session. The new offshoot of East Bayside's Tandem Coffee Roasters will be open Tuesday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., according to a recent profile by Kathleen Pierce.

Baker Briana Holt is the major addition to the existing Tandem team of co-owners Will and Kathleen Pratt and managing partner Vien Dobui. The original Tandem location will still roast all of the coffee for both cafes, while the new space houses the bakery operation, which will supply sweet and savory treats to the tiny empire.
