Eater National announced its Eater Young Guns Class of 2014 yesterday. These 16 food professionals are up-and-comers who are under 30 or have spent less than five years in their chosen fields. As National puts it, "These are the junior statesmen of the culinary world who have most distinguished themselves this year and who are its next stars."
From chefs, sous chefs, and pastry chefs to food truck operators and a barista, the final list covers the industry's many roles and spans North America. Maine's own highly talented baker Briana Warner of Maine Pie Line was one of 50 semi-finalists for the honor; the closest winner geographically was Meredith Gallagher, GM of Menton in Boston. Winners were celebrated at a gala event in LA last night.
