Portland's KFC is Kaput

This is the sad scene today at the KFC in Portland near Woodfords Corner, where The Colonel has served his last. All Kentucky Fried signage is down. A message for passersby reads "CLOSED THANK YOU." A note posted on the door invites those seeking a bucket of Original Recipe to journey to Westbrook, Windham or Scarborough, where fried chicken and Styrofoam bowls of instant mashed potatoes and "signature" brown gravy can still be had.

Windows are papered over and work trucks appear to be removing stuff. No word yet on whether a new restaurant is in the works for this spot, which is kinda tricky to get into and out of given the heavy traffic flow. It's apparently a risk that not enough Extra Crispy lovers were willing to take anymore.
