The Portland Hunt & Alpine Club will soon offer Fernet Branca and carbonated cocktails on tap after adding several taps behind the bar. They should be pouring by early April. The additional taps also mean more draft beer. Oxbow's Farmhouse Pale Ale has joined Rising Tide Daymark and Bunker Brewing's Machine Pils on the draft menu.
Since opening last summer, Andrew and Briana Volk's Scandinavian-influenced watering hole has raised the bar for Maine craft cocktails. Fernet Branca (which Andrew provided a primer on during Cocktail Week) is a favorite among service industry folks and is also used in many of the bar's cocktails. Putting it on tap (something few other bars in the country offer) makes it easier to serve. The cocktails offered on tap will change seasonally and will generally be lower alcohol options, like the White Noise (elderflower, Cocchi Americano, grapefruit zest).
