Today the James Beard Foundation announced the semifinalists in the 2014 Restaurant and Chef Awards, with a handful of Maine nominees making the cut. (Full list here.) The finalists will be announced on Tuesday, March 18, 2014; the winners will then be announced at the James Beard Foundation Awards on Monday, May 5, 2014 at Lincoln Center in New York City.
Here are the Maine semifinalists:
Outstanding Restaurant: Fore Street (Portland) and Primo (Rockland)
Outstanding Wine, Spirits, or Beer Professional: Rob Tod, Allagash Brewing Co. (Portland)
Rising Star Chef of the Year: Cara Stadler, Tao Yuan (Brunswick)
Best Chef Northeast: Brian Hill, Francine Bistro (Camden); Masa Miyake, Miyake (Portland); Ravin Nakjaroen, Long Grain (Camden)
