Full Menu and Photos of SoPo Bar and Grill, now Serving South Portland 7 Days a Week

The deli, bar, and grill are all officially open at this beautifully redone spot, and Kyle J. Norris got the pictures to prove it.

First the deli, then the bar, and finally the restaurant: Bit by bit, SoPo Bar and Grill opened to the public this month. The replacement for JP Thornton's is large and beautiful, and the bar is almost literally wallpapered with TVs. "We...do not have a single seat in the bar without a direct view of a state of the art television," a recent Facebook post extolled.

Photographer Kyle J. Norris went in to get some visual evidence. He found a packed house on a Friday night, with no parking spaces remaining in a sizable lot. From Norris' point of view, owner Peter Verrill and his team "did an amazing job of separating the restaurant, bar, and deli, but having them all work in unison."

He snapped shots of the restaurant menu to accompany an earlier image of the deli menu; he also puzzled over the lack of a drink menu, an odd oversight for a place where "bar" takes top billing over "grill." Take a look through his photos and see for yourself South Portland's latest major player.
