Late-season food trucks in Maine: A new trend? The Muthah Truckah, which just launched in Portland last week with a focus on Italian Muffuletta sandwiches, will soon be complemented by a new dessert truck called Cannoli Joe's. Owner Joey Hamilton has been selling his cannoli for years by special order, at events, and sometimes even at a table on Commercial Street, but his truck debuted at the Cumberland County Fair September 21-28 and promises to "see you on the streets of Portland soon!"

In a nod to two famous lines from The Godfather, the tagline for the business is, "I'll make you a cannoli you can't refuse!" The company's website lists over 40 flavors of the classic Italian treat, from expected iterations such as traditional and hazelnut, to increasingly out-there combos such as Rice Krispie Treat and The Elvis (peanut butter, banana, bacon, honey). These can all be ordered by the dozen (large or small) with 48 hours advance notice, but it's safe to assume not all will be available every time the truck hits the streets.

Follow along on Facebook for updates on where to find the truck when it hits town.
