Central Provisions, the upcoming Old Port international small plates restaurant from Chris Gould, is finally nearing the finish line. A Facebook post over the weekend indicated that inspections would be taking place yesterday, and earlier posts show a sneak peek at some coasters bearing the restaurant's branding as well as a kitchen taking shape.
In December, Gould shared a sample menu to provide an impression of what the opening menu could look like — think sea bream ceviche, scallop "carpaccio," beef tartare, foie gras confit, chestnut pappardelle, and lots more. Gould, a Bethel native, previously worked at Uni Sashimi Bar, one of Ken Oringer's acclaimed restaurants in Boston, so it's no surprise that some intriguing raw seafood dishes appear on the sample menu.
