Maine's breweries have an economic impact on the state comparable to the ski industry, writes Whit Richardson on his Bangor Daily News blog. And the per capita impact puts Maine fourth in the nation, behind only Oregon, Colorado and Vermont. The industry continues to grow, with new breweries popping up at a frantic pace. From Richardson: "I expect to see more breweries open in Maine, but have to wonder if we're getting close to the saturation point." [BDN]
