Michelle Sturgeon resigned her post as Portland's health inspector, reports the Munjoy Hill News blog. Sturgeon tells Carol McCracken, "I made a choice and I have to stick to it. It was a separation and an amicable one. It was not a good fit." Sturgeon was on the job for about two years, her most famous act being the closure of The Porthole for serious violations. The well-known waterfront restaurant then changed hands and received $100K in renovations before reopening. No word yet on Sturgeon's replacement. [MHN]
