An early-morning Old Port fire at 420 Fore Street caused damage to three restaurants, according to the Press Herald. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but Street and Co., Joe's New York Pizza and the Dancing Elephant II were all "severely impacted" by the blaze in the large building that also faces Wharf Street. According to Portland Fire Chief Jerome LaMoria, the restaurants could be closed for days or even weeks. The cause of the fire, which was reported at 1:30 a.m. and brought under control by 5 a.m., is unknown right now.
