DiPietro's Italian Sandwiches will close on August 18 after 69 years in business, reports the Press Herald. The Cumberland Avenue store is known for its super-stuffed version of the Italian. Eleanor DiPietro, widow of longtime owner Joey DiPietro, told the paper, "It's bittersweet. ... It's going to be hard, but it's time. I need to retire." [PPH]
