In an odd twist, the Bangor Daily News reports that a new trial has been granted to the owners of three Maine Mexican restaurants convicted of employing and harboring undocumented workers after evidence of a juror using a racial slur surfaced. Hector and Guillermo Fuentes, who own the Fajita Grill in Westbrook, Cancun in Waterville and Cancun II in Biddeford, were convicted in March, but will now stand trial again in October after it was discovered that a juror told another man "They are all guilty wetbacks anyway" at the Eagles Club, a South Portland bar, on a Saturday in the midst of the trial.
