The Portland & Rochester Public House is now officially open for business. From some Facebook photos and a peek in the windows, the interior has a rustic vibe, with lots of dark stained wood and some exposed brick. The description from said Facebook page says the public house has "The soul of a Bistro and spirit of a Pub." The full meaning of this likely becomes clearer after enjoying some spirits at the pub. There's not yet a website up, so if anyone has a menu or other knowledge of the place, hit up the tipline.
The P & R, named after an old rail line and taking up the Bayside building that formerly housed G & R DiMillo's, had a soft opening last night, but is now open its regular hours: 3 p.m. to midnight (or later), with a pub menu served in the afternoon, late night and on Sundays, and a bistro menu offered from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Monday through Saturday.
