Is this the end of Micucci's Sicilian pizza slab? Baker and slab architect Stephen Lanzalotta has apparently been fired from the Italian market on India Street, according to an email he wrote that was forwarded to Eater Maine (thanks, Blueberry Files). The email says, "I was fired Tues June 25 for 'overstepping my bounds' in advocating for raises and fuller workweeks for bakery assistants under my direction ... " What's the other side to this story? Is Micucci's going to continue selling the famous slabs, though Lanzalotta claims ownership of the recipe?
