Hot Wing Challenge; The (Beer) Festival; NoshBow

Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are three food and dining events going on around the state:

hot%20wing%20challange.JPG1) Maine Hot Wing Cook-Off Challenge
When: Saturday 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: Ocean Gateway, 14 Ocean Gateway Pier, Portland.
What: More than 30 local restaurants will be showcasing their finest hot wings, vying for cash and best-wings-in-town bragging rights. For $20, you get all the wings you can stuff in your face. There's beer and a wing eating contest, too.

the%20festival.JPG2) The Festival 2013
When: Friday 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.; Saturday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Where: Portland Company, 58 Fore Street, Portland.
What: Put on by importers Shelton Brothers and 12 Percent, this is beer geek nirvana. Seventy-five brewers from around the world are bringing their products, including many rare beers not regularly available in Maine. The $65 admission gets you 48 ounces of samples, either in 1 or 2 ounce increments. Local food vendors will also be on site.

Noshbow.JPG3) NoshBow Block Party
When: Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: Oak Street, Portland.
What: Nosh will be dishing out food in the street while Newcastle, Maine-based Oxbow dispenses its fine beers. There will be live graffiti, turntables and skateboarding, so pack accordingly.
