In a quick response to an investigative piece in the Maine Sunday Telegram on the serious deficiencies in Maine's restaurant inspection program, "state legislators said Monday they will consider increasing the frequency of restaurant inspections and hiring more inspectors," according to yesterday's Portland Press Herald. House Speaker Mark Eves, who in 2011 "voted in favor of reducing the frequency of restaurant inspections" to once every two years, "said ... that the Legislature should address the program's shortcomings during the next session."
