It's a big day today for new restaurants in Kennebunkport, with both David's KPT and Ocean opening their doors as part of the Kennebunkport Resort Collection's portfolio, which includes luxury hotels, boutiques and restaurants, writes the Press Herald's Maine a la Carte blog.
David's KPT is the latest from chef and restaurateur David Turin, who has David's and David's Opus Ten in Portland, as well as David's 388 in South Portland. KPT also includes the second Opus Ten, Turin's "clever restaurant-within-a-restaurant." KPT has 200 seats, while Opus Ten sits 20. The dining spaces are situated below the new Boathouse Waterfront Hotel, where The Landing restaurant used to be. Download the menu here.
Ocean, in the Cape Arundel Inn, is Pierre Gignac's second Maine restaurant. He was previously the chef/owner at 98 Provence in Ogunquit. The "menu reveres the coastal Maine oceanic harvest with an approach of French-inspired simplicity," notes the press release. See their menu here.
