Opening Report

The iconic Port Clyde bar "known affectionately as 'The Poon,'" reopened this week under its original name, The Black Harpoon, according to The Pen Bay Pilot. New owners, Chris Chadwick, a scallop fisherman, and his mother Cindy, hired Neva Joseph away from Linda Bean's to serve as general manager. The "real deal" decor hasn't changed. "Original lobster buoys donated from local lobster fishermen hang from the ceilings and rafters while faded photographs of locals line the walls." Dinner service starts May 9. [PBP]
