And The Winner Is ... The Mainah From Mainely Burgers!

Following a week of fast-and-furious voting, back-room deal brokering and a flurry of get-out-the-vote activity on Twitter and Facebook, the results of the first-ever Best Burger in Maine Reader Poll are in and we have a winner. It is The Mainah Burger: cheddar, bacon, sauteed onions, apple slices, and homemade maple mayo from the Mainely Burgers food truck.
Truck%202%20outside%20finished.JPGWith so many great burgers in Maine, this is an impressive win, especially since Mainely Burgers is operated by college sophomores Ben Berman (Tufts University) and Jack Barber (Boston College), both of Cape Elizabeth, who launched the truck last summer at Scarborough Beach in Scarborough. This year, they'll be back at the beach with extended hours beginning Memorial Day and a snazzy second truck (above) in Portland beginning May 19.

"We could not be more excited to win Eater's first Best Burger in Maine Reader Poll," said Berman. "We love this business, and have worked hard every day to make the best burgers we can." Added Barber: "To be honored for that with this great award is extremely gratifying. Thanks to everyone who voted for us - see you all soon!" Congratulations to Ben, Jack and Mainely Burgers, kudos to the nominees and finalists and thank you to all who rocked the vote!
