Carla Companion (aka The Beer Babe) offered a blog post toast to Karen Kay Geary, co-founder of D.L Geary Brewing Co., who passed away last week at 68 after a long fight with cancer. Karen and former husband David started the brewery in 1983. "Notably, Karen was the first female brewery owner in Maine, and among the first in New England and the U.S., after prohibition."
