Under Currach Tavern in Boothbay Harbor, which opened a year ago on the corner of Townsend Avenue and Union Street, will close at the end of the month, according to The Boothbay Register. Owner Matt Hurley said the area's usual hordes of summer tourists he expected to sustain him through the lean winter months never materialized last season. "You don't expect to make a profit in your first year open, but you do expect to be able to project that there will be a profit, in the future. I can't do that here." [BR]
