OLD PORT — Rob Evans and Sam Hayward flipping pizzas? Yup, Portland's two big-name chefs, plus Chad Conley (also heading for stardom as the chef at Gather in Yarmouth) will show off their pizza chops at a No Kid Hungry Dinner at Flatbread Company to benefit Share Our Strength Maine. Unlike previous NKH dinners, which have been swanky, big-ticket evenings, this one is aimed at families: tickets are $30 per person ($35 at the door) and kids eat free with a paying adult. That price gets you all-you-can eat pizza, salads from Rosemont Market and cupcakes from East End. Live music and a silent auction are on deck, too. Advance tickets are available on Eventbrite. WEST END — For those who disdain the trumped up romantic pressure of Valentine's Day, here's how to avoid that table for two. Chef Steve Corry of Five Fifty-Five and Petite Jacqueline provides a stay-at-home, Saint Valentine's dinner-with-friends menu (and recipes) for novelist (and Portland resident) Kate Christensen's story in the February issue of O Magazine. PORTLAND — Stuck inside with nothing to do? Go online and vote for Portland's "bests" in The Portland Phoenix' annual reader poll. In addition to Food and Drink, the categories are Arts and Entertainment, Shopping and City Life. [PP]
