Everyone makes mistakes. But accuracy standards for some travel writers appear to be at a new low. The Kennebunkport Inn is heralded in the Montreal Gazette, which praises the inn's "stunning new decor" and "talented new chef," Phil Reid. At least writer Rochelle Lash got the first part right: Reid has actually led the kitchen at One Dock - the inn's restaurant - since the spring of 2011. Lash also writes that Gordon Ramsay "breezed through One Dock this year and endorsed Reid's seafood pasta as one of his favourite Maine dishes." Not exactly. Ramsay visited in 2009.
