Following two lengthy Planning Board meetings interrupted by concerned neighbors of the property (many of the same folks that helped stall the opening of the brewery itself) the Boothbay Craft Brewery has received conditional approval to build a 50-seat restaurant, according to The Boothbay Register (the report is not online). Voting 3 to 2 in favor of owners Lori and Win Mitchell (at right), the board removed earlier restrictions that prohibited serving of food and liquor - allowing beer tastings only. In what was likely a bone thrown to neighbors, there will be no outside seating. Final approval is expected on July 25 after the Mitchells present preliminary plans; no word on when construction of the brewpub would begin. [TBR}
