In Boothbay Harbor, The World Is Mine Oyster

New, 2 comments

The Maine dining scene may be centered on Portland, but a primary reason Eater Maine is covering this entire great state is that there are pockets of outstanding food all along the coast - and inland too. One of those pockets is the Boothbay Region - Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, Southport and Edgecomb - as well as a smattering of islands primarily inhabited by summer residents. New this summer right at the water's edge in Boothbay Harbor is cleverly named The World is Mine Oyster, specializing in local seafood with a focus on - naturally - Maine's cold-water oysters.Opened this spring by the Boothbay Harbor Restaurant Group, owners of McSeagull's and The Boat House Bistro, also in the harbor, the restaurant has attracted the attention of oyster expert Rowan Jacobsen (The Oyster Guide); on July 14, will host a 7-course "oyster tasting" dinner with wine and beer pairings for $85 per person. For reservations, call 207-633-6616.
