Anticipating 2013; Celebrating Pie And Brussels Sprouts

PORTLAND - "Portland might need to give up its self-conception as a leading-edge food town and play some catch-up," writes Brian Duff in a look-ahead piece for The Portland Phoenix. For 2013, he's eagerly awaiting dim-sum from the pop-up Chinese Laundry (by Erika Joyce of the Cloak & Dagger Supper Club), cocktails from Portland Hunt & Alpine Club and the new eateries coming from Jay Villani, Masa Miyake and Harding Lee Smith. ROCKLAND - There's always room for pie, especailly on Jan. 27, when "the Historic Inns of Rockland are joined by 20 other Rockland businesses and restaurants to welcome hungry pie eaters to the town for the annual pie-a-thon to benefit the Area Interfaith Outreach Food Pantry," according to Maine Today.
