Get Ready For Longer Lines At The Holy Donut

New, 2 comments

More love from CNN for Maine food: Portland's The Holy Donut is the subject of a profile today on the news channel's food blog, Eatocracy. (In case you missed it, on Monday, Duckfat's fries made CNN's list of the country's best.) The Maine potato donuts are made by hand and the shop features "12-14 flavors daily," including the best-selling apple cider, bacon-cheddar and chocolate-sea salt.

Everybody wants it. They think they can't have it, but we tell them they can, says owner Leigh Kellis. Traditionally the poster child of unhealthy treats, donuts here are made with all natural colors and flavors, local Maine ingredients and no preservatives.
