Oysters For Everyone; Roost Celebrates

MIDCOAST — It doesn't have the photographic appeal of the print version, but DownEast magazine has put Virginia Wright's in-depth story on the rise of the Maine oyster industry from the October issue, online. "With this summer's openings of Eventide and of Mine Oyster (Boothbay Harbor) ... the notion that oysters, like lobster, can be a signature Maine attraction has spilled beyond Damariscotta's borders."

Roost House of Juice, the vegan, raw, organic, juice bar and cafe, has been open since late August, and this Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. owners Jeanette Richelson and Kathleen Flanagan are hosting their official Grand Opening with free samples of their food and drink. See EM's photos of Roost here.
