Chef Kevin Walsh of Earth at Hidden Pond in Kennebunkport won the Top of the Crop farm-to-table cooking challenge yesterday, besting Eric Flynn of The Harrasekeet Inn in Freeport, Jeff Landry of The Farmer's Table and Shannon Bard of Zapoteca - both in Portland. The chefs were chosen "based on their farm to table philosophy, relationship with local farms, and how well their restaurant menus reflect the farm to table movement on a year-round basis," according to a Harvest on the Harbor press release. Walsh's winning dish was farro cavitelli, chicken ragout, wild mushrooms and heirloom squash.
